The Honourable Senator Milne, Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, presented its Tenth Report (Bill C-7, An Act in respect of criminal justice for young persons and to amend and repeal other Acts, with amendments).

That the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration be authorized to examine and report on the renewal of the television broadcasting agreement between the Senate and CPAC (the Cable Public Affairs Channel), so that it includes the subtitling of parliamentary debates authorized on television and that the renewal of this agreement follows up on CPAC's commitments concerning services to the hearing impaired.

(a) Calls upon the Government of Canada to recognize the genocide of the Armenians and to condemn any attempt to deny or distort a historical truth as being anything less than genocide, a crime against humanity.

(b) Designates April 24th of every year hereafter throughout Canada as a day of remembrance of the 1.5 million Armenians who fell victim to the first genocide of the twentieth century.
